A chainsaw is a portable mechanical saw which is used for tree cutting, pruning, limbing, felling, and bucking firewood. Gas-powered chainsaw
As the name suggests, this chainsaw is powered by gasoline or petrol and used for professional and occasional use. It has two-stroke engines which use gasoline and oil mixture to run and it prevents unnecessary damage. The gas-powered chainsaw has great power to weight ratio and it works faster than other types of chainsaws. It is heavier, vibrant and produces more noise and also requires regular servicing and refilling. This type of chainsaws are expensive than other types, they cost from $180 to $420.

Corded electric chainsaw
This chainsaw makes use of an electric supply to run the engine, hence they do not require fuel. Electric chainsaws are lightweight and easy to operate; it is more convenient for small work. They are cheaper than a gas-powered chainsaw, they cost between $70 and $300. But it has one disadvantage that is they must be plugged into a power source which does not allow working in large areas. A portable generator is the best solution for this chainsaw.

Battery-powered chainsaw
Battery powered chainsaw also referred to as a cordless chainsaw, is operated by using rechargeable batteries. It only works till the battery lasts, but it does not require to continue plug-in and regular maintenance like the other two types. Battery powered chainsaws are designed for a lighter task like trimming, limbing and cutting small trees as they are less powerful than the other two types. It is expensive than the other two, they have a price from $200 to $400.

Manual chainsaw
Manual chainsaw is also known as a hand-powered chainsaw, which does not require fuel or electricity to run. They do not produce noise, but they require efforts. Manual chainsaw is highly portable and faster, they require nylon webbing, a hacksaw, a nylon string to make it convenient for use. This chainsaw is cheaper than other types of chainsaws.
